About this site
This is an online source of documentation and examples for RubyCocoa.
With RubyCocoa, you can use the Ruby programming language and the Cocoa object-oriented framework together to build beautiful and concise applications.
The RubyCocoa project is an open-source effort to build a bridge between Ruby and Objective-C, Cocoa's native language. It was originally released in 2001 and was created by Hisakuni Fujimoto. To learn more about the RubyCocoa project, visit the RubyCocoa SourceForge page.
I built this site as part of a personal project to explore RubyCocoa.
I'm an independent software developer based in northern California.
My recent interests include electronic design automation (EDA), web applications, games, and technologies for individual and collaborative
Michael started as the new host & maintainer of the site in December 2007. Michael is a software developer based in Melbourne, Australia, and took on the site to learn more about RubyCocoa.
The Cocoa logo is by Erik Wrenholt. Site hosting is provided by Joyent.
The site itself is a Ruby on Rails application. It began as Tobias Luetke's Hieraki, which he described as "a collaborative book writing tool which combines the best part of the common wiki with a hierarchy (hence hiera-ki)." Hieraki is currently maintained by Alexander Horn. For the latest version, please visit the Hieraki homepage at www.hieraki.org. The version I'm running is a mix of the original Hieraki, a comment system derived from the one in the typo blogging engine (also originally by Tobias Luetke), and a visual style based on Jeffrey Allan Hardy's Scribbish typo theme.
